This test is administered by the National Assessment for Educational Progress, NAEP, through the U.S. Department of Education. This test collects information every two years from a representative sample of public and private school students in fourth grade on their mathematics knowledge and achievement. This test consists of five areas: number properties and operations, measurement, geometry, data analysis, statistics and probability, and algebra. This test is measured on a scale between 0 and 500. The scale is distributed as follows: 500-282: advanced, 281 to 250: proficient, 249 to 215: basic, below 214 pre-basic.
